Seven: game plan

Spirit wave-clear and area pressure. Seven can convert safe farming time into strong repeated spirit damage, but the farm only matters if he reaches useful fights. This plan emphasizes Lightning Ball and Power Surge for consistent pressure, with Static Charge creating an opening. Storm Cloud is a position-dependent option rather than the answer to every engagement.

Lane decisions

Send Lightning Ball through a wave along an angle that also pressures an enemy or blocks their route. Keep shooting for last hits instead of assuming the ability secured every soul. Use Power Surge for a valuable firing window or a quick clear before rotating. Push only when you know where an enemy rotation can come from; a cleared wave does not make the side of the lane safe.

Team fights

Apply Static Charge early enough that its delayed stun can shape where the target moves, then put Lightning Ball across that route. Fire during Power Surge instead of retreating immediately after activating it. Use Storm Cloud from a position with useful line of sight and a nearby teammate who can protect the channel. Enemies behind cover avoid its damage, so an impressive radius alone does not guarantee a useful ultimate.

Strengths

  • Area damage helps clear waves and contest narrow routes.
  • Delayed control can force opponents to separate or change their route.

Risks

  • A visible channel attracts interrupts and focused fire.
  • Spending too long clearing camps leaves your team fighting without your damage.

Ability investment

  1. Lightning Ball (ability 1): The extra-charge first upgrade supports wave control and lets you cover more than one route. Use the charges deliberately rather than spending both on the same safe wave.
  2. Power Surge (ability 3): The early cooldown upgrade supports more frequent firing windows. Continue this path when sustained shooting is contributing more than occasional ultimate channels.
  3. Static Charge (ability 2): The first cooldown upgrade makes your setup available more often. Extra range and radius later help only if your team can act when the delayed stun arrives.

Build decisions

Begin with spirit power and enough weapon speed to make Power Surge useful. Range and cooldown purchases increase how often you can affect a fight, while Spirit Lifesteal is an alternative when sustained ability damage lets you recover safely. Avoid sinking all your souls into an ultimate plan when every channel is being interrupted or blocked by cover.

WhenItemSoulsReason and tradeoff
OpeningExtra Spirit800A modest spirit purchase supports the damage-focused plan without delaying several cheap lane items. Recovery remains more urgent if poke is forcing you out.
OpeningRapid Rounds800Helps you use the weapon during Power Surge. This is useful only while you have an actual firing window, so do not substitute it for cover.
CoreMystic Expansion800Imbue Lightning Ball for its area coverage, or Static Charge when reaching the target is the problem. The range and radius increase applies to the one selected ability.
CoreSuperior Cooldown3,200More frequent abilities support the repeated-pressure plan. Its current effect reduces ability cooldowns; this purchase does not require an imbued ability choice.
SituationalSpirit Lifesteal1,600Adds recovery when your abilities are already damaging heroes for long enough. It is weaker protection against an interrupt followed by burst.
SituationalUnstoppable6,400Consider it when hostile control is consistently stopping your key fight contribution. Activate before a stun or sleep; it cannot be pressed while already affected by either.

Adapt the plan

If opponents hide from Storm Cloud, use Lightning Ball and your weapon to pressure the route they must take next. If they save a stun for the channel, contribute through normal abilities until that threat is used or buy a control answer. A Seven who arrives with the team and repeatedly uses his basic kit is more useful than one who farms for a perfect ultimate that never happens.

Seven lore

When mystic energy awoke on Earth, the world changed... anything was possible. But just because anything WAS possible, didn't mean that anything SHOULD be possible. And so the government made rules. Laws. A means for US citizens to enjoy the benefits of the supernatural world in safety. But rules and laws are for lesser men. Men with limitations. Men who were not Seven. There are many rumors about what Seven did to land himself in Lost Whisper, an oubliette for the most dangerous of occultists. But there is no doubt about what happened on the night of his execution. Wards placed by the most powerful ritualists of 7 different nations... wards designed to not just prevent mystical interference with the execution, but to simultaneously obliterate Seven's soul so that it could never be contacted, resurrected, or otherwise be used by someone looking to follow in his footsteps... failed. Onlookers viewed in horror as the strongest mentalist employed by the US Army's head popped like a grape. They screamed as Scotland Yard's premiere occult investigator, the one who allegedly captured Seven, crumbled to ash. Seven's body buckled and writhed against his restraints; his skin burning from eldritch electricity... and yet he would not die. He laughed. He laughed as he tore himself free from his bondage. He laughed as his captors cowered in fear. He laughed as he massacred his tormentors. He laughed as he tasted the fresh air that was denied to him for years. And he laughed when he thought about what he was going to do once he reached New York City.
